Former Governors Rendell, Schweiker to Tour PA in Support of Expanded Pre-k to Strengthen the Economy

Stops in Erie and Philadelphia, Statewide Media Call to Urge Action on Increased Access to High-Quality Early Learning

Philadelphia, PA – On Monday, June 9, former Pennsylvania Governors Ed Rendell and Mark Schweiker will travel across the commonwealth headlining Pre-K for PA events in Erie and Philadelphia. Rendell, a Democrat, and Schweiker, a Republican, will discuss progress each made as Pennsylvania’s chief executive to increase access to high-quality pre-k, and urge leaders in Harrisburg to build on that progress to ensure access to high-quality pre-k for all 3- and 4-year-olds. Early childhood learning gives our children the best chance possible to succeed in school and life, and to improve Pennsylvania’s economic competitiveness.

Pre-K for PA is an issue campaign supported by individuals and organizations across Pennsylvania who believe that investing in our children is the right choice and an urgent necessity.  Our vision is that every 3- and 4-year-old in Pennsylvania will have access to high-quality pre-k. We will not endorse nor oppose candidates, but rather we will advocate on behalf of this vision for Pennsylvania’s children, schools and communities.
